Who is Zone?

Hello everyone. ^^ Nice to meet you.

I'm sure, some people have asked since episode 93:

"Who or what is this white thing that
Yusei, Sherry and Bruno saw?"

We know now the name, Zone. But, what is he (most likely manly)? A human? And who is this person for Yusei and his friends?

Many questions.
This topic is for the disscusion of your theories and ideas.

For the begin, here is my theorie:
Why?
The main reason is the eye colour. Both have clear blue eyes. Look the pictures:



The first time, it was a little bit strange for me, "They have the same eyes? Can this be possible?". But after episode 103 because of Sherry's behaviour to Yusei and her thoughts about him, e.g. "Yusei...just in the world are you?" (sub from shin-paku), I realized it. They have the same eyes and a connection because Sherry, Bruno and Yusei came in this world of episode 93 after Yusei appearred in the control room from the Public Maintenance Bureau.

There is the theory that Yusei's father is Zone because of his appearance in episode 117. I believed it for one moment too, but the problem is his father has more dull dark blue eyes. So I returned to my originally idea.

This is my theory. I know the idea Yusei = Zone is a little bit creepy but it is an idea.
What do you think? Speak free about your theories.

You have interesting informations. There is a point which I knew but I hadn't wrote it.

This was the comparison between Yusei's D-Wheel and Zone's body. read it of another site.
But only three things were compared:
the backside, the magatama form and the reversed colour (his D-Wheel is red with white lines, Zone's body is white with red lines)

This all makes sense now. On topic for ZONE's body and Yusei's D Wheel, someone on the yugioh wikia, old topic, drew ZONE's body as yusei's D Wheel. It looked like the body would just start retracting into the shape of it and all. It matched so perfectly with ZONE"s designs as well, patterns and such. Shame I can't find the sketch. But yeah, ZONE is Yusei, hands down.

Thinking about Yusei's character and what Zone actually is doing, I dont think, they really are the same. It seems to be more like Yusei happens to be some kind of almost identical reincarnation, but with opposing values. As such, he propably might have to fight against Zone to free the world from some sort of predetermined ever returning destiny Zone stands for - Which gives some more arcs of the story

TBH I thought you were ridiculous when you said Yusei, but after Yanish's post, it totally makes sense!

I'd rather say, Yusei propably is some sort of Zone....

I have no evidence but I think that he's probably a descendant of yusei .

You already talked about the appearance similarities between Yuusei and Zone, but there is one more thing that convinces me that he is indeed Yuusei and that is his Speech pattern. Even tough they do not share the same voice actor but watch the part again when Aporia speaks about the future and how they meet and when he talks with Zone and asks Zone to use his split entities to change the future, just listen to how Zone speaks. It's almost completely how Yuusei speaks when he talks with his friends.

i fully don't know who is Zone, but about his "stuck" problem. I guess something happened to Zone's body and he needed to use that form to keep him alive.

At the end of the opening he has 2 large robotic hands that are floating next to him, maybe with that

Zone appears to be a futuristic Santa Claus. He has the beard under the shell

Also as I quoted in another thread, he seems to have no alliegances. The Three Tenors wanted to change the future to stop Synchro Summon destroying their world, so he gave them Machine Emperor Cards.

Sherry wanted her family back, so he gave her Soul Binding Gate card.

Yusei he gave Shooting Star Dragon etc.

Aporia - he gives two cards - see 141/142 descriptions.

But on all of these occasions, he leaves fate in the hands of those who use the cards. He doesnt seem bothered which future is made.

Also is Zone a possible Machine Emporer? At the end of the opening credits, his body appears to sprout claw hands in the form of another Machine card?

Whoever writes this stuff deserves an Anime Oscar, its addictive, thought provoking and fun.

Dont think i said he was a "good guy", more like someone who pretends to help both sides and just sits back to watch them fight it out

I also think either Yusei / Bruno or the whole team will have to beat him to stop the Minus Rotation.

The cards seem to be given at their request, yes. But Zone must surely want something out of the deal?

All players except for Yusei have made a deal with Zone. Also, the Zone card was given to Sherry by her father. Is there more of a back story to come?
